Description

Through digital story sharing, the intern will provide opportunities for Latino youth in Boston to share their personal and cultural connections with park themes, thereby raising the visibility of parks as places for personal reflection and social renewal. The LHIP intern will engage youth in explorations and conversations about Boston’s national parks and document their journeys through recorded StoryCorps interviews, photography, video and written word.  This project enables the National Parks of Boston (NPB) and partners to prototype new avenues for engaging underserved audiences. Collecting and sharing the stories of participating youth celebrates their history, honors their heritage, captures the spirit of community and sheds light on what makes park stories relevant and resonant to today’s teens.
