Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) projects are primarily focused on but not limited to pulling invasive species, working at the native plant nursery, watering, planting, and caring for restoration sites throughout the park.  Hot sun, lightning, and rain are all possible when working outdoors.  Workers will use hand tools, may need to lift up to 40 lbs., and can generally expect to be grimy by the end of each day. The YCC Field Crew Lead will coordinate projects with park staff, plan educational days, develop leadership opportunities for corps members, and organize outdoor recreational activities. Along with the YCC field crew assistant, the YCC field crew lead will coordinate and lead a team of up to ten Youth Conservation Corps participants, ages 15-18 that live in the local community, for eight weeks.
