The Southeast Regional Office of the National Park Service oversees parks and sites in Kentucky, North and South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida.

Through the summer, the intern will work closely with the office’s Urban Fellow and the Partnerships Division to frame all work within the NPS Urban Agenda. At the end of the internship, the intern will  present a summary report following Latino Conservation Week highlighting successes, while analyzing any identified challenges and ways to partner into the future with the Partnerships Division.  Some of their main objectives will include: forging partnerships with Latino communities and grassroots Latino organizations throughout the metro-Atlanta area, drafting a metro-Atlanta Latino Community Engagement Strategy, as well as suggestions for continuity and sustainability of established partnerships, and assisting parks in promoting Latino Conservation Week events/projects to all audiences (Latino and non-Latino) through traditional and social media.
